As per By-Law no. 23 of the Village de Memramcook relating to dog control (, feces must be picked up off of public and private property and immediately put into a suitable container or garbage bag.

The time has come to put away the golf clubs.  The Memramcook golf course will close for the season this Sunday, October 22nd, at the end of the day.

On behalf of the Municipal Council and Staff, we would like to thank all members as well as volunteers for your help, your support and your cooperation throughout the 2017 golf season!  It is because of all of you and of our team of employees that we had an excellent season!  We look forward to opening our doors in 2018!  Have a great winter and hope to see you again next year!

The 20th Annual Memramcook Show N Shine presented by the Memramcook Chamber of Commerce will be held on Sunday, August 6th, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., on the vast grounds of the Memramcook Institute!

Come celebrate Acadian Day in Memramcook from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Monument-Lefebvre! An afternoon filled with music, family activities, free BBQ,  crafts market, a big Tintamarre, bar, fireworks and much more! The Village of Memramcook wishes to advise emergency services and motorists that the ongoing water main construction project on Central street will require a road closure tomorrow. Therefore the road will be closed to through traffic tomorrow from 7 am to 8:00pm Thursday July 20th 2017.

During construction Central street will be completely closed to vehicles between addresses 152 Central and 195 Central. Detour signs will be in place.

Please note :
·         Civic # 152 and 162 Centrale st. will only be accessible via La VallĂ©e route (route 106).
·         Civic # 195 Central st and up will only be accessible via Saint-Thomas, La Montain and PrĂ© d’en Haut.

Free Family Activity Kits
Come and get your free family activity kit for National Acadian Day 2020! The kits will be available to pick up on Tuesday, August 11 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. outside the Municipal building (first come - first served).

Acadian “tie dye” Creations
The community is also invited to come and make Acadian “tie dye” creations.

Here's what you'll need to bring with you:

1) A white cotton T-shirt - or any other white item (example: pillowcase, pair of socks, etc.). Please make sure the item has never been worn or used.
2) Plastic bag (to take your creation home).

We will have 5 stations in place and only one family bubble per station. We ask participants to be patient, respect social distancing, sanitize their hands at each station and wait in line if needed. We also recommend not to wear clothes that you wouldn't to get dirty.

The ''Causeries du mardi 2020'' will take place from July 7 to August 25 at 7 p.m.via the Monument-Lefebvre Facebook Page. 

Phyllis E. LeBlanc & Christine Dupuis ‱ Femmes et archives : quels enjeux pour la mĂ©moire collective?

La capacitĂ© des historiens et historiennes de traiter de la thĂ©matique femme comme sujet historique dĂ©pend en premiĂšre instance des sources, vestiges du passĂ©. Les femmes ont-elles laissĂ© des traces (Ă©crites ou autres), de leur vie? Les sources traditionnellement utilisĂ©es pour construire le rĂ©cit historique de l’Acadie permettent-elles d’éclairer l’histoire des femmes? Par le biais de quelles approches peut-on traiter les sources et mettre en valeur la mĂ©moire collective des femmes acadiennes? On se penchera donc sur les stratĂ©gies qui permettent d’éclairer le passĂ© des femmes et les enjeux de conservations relatifs aux documents de femmes, spĂ©cifiquement en Acadie.

Phyllis E. LeBlanc est professeure au DĂ©partement d’histoire et de gĂ©ographie Ă  l’UniversitĂ© de Moncton, campus de Moncton. Elle dĂ©tient un B.A. et un M. Ăšs Arts en histoire de l’UniversitĂ© de Moncton et un Ph.D. en histoire de l’UniversitĂ© d’Ottawa. Membre du Groupe de recherche sur les archives et les femmes en Acadie (GRAFA), elle a tout rĂ©cemment publiĂ© un chapitre qui porte sur les dĂ©fis de la reprĂ©sentation des femmes dans le rĂ©cit historique acadien : « Que nous apprennent les synthĂšses historiques et les contributions rĂ©centes Ă  la recherche fondamentale en histoire des femmes et du genre en Acadie?», dans Paroles et regards de femme en Acadie. D’hier Ă  aujourd’hui, sous la direction de Jimmy Thibault, Michael Poplyansky, StĂ©phanie St-Pierre et Chantal White, Ste-Foy, Presses de l’UniversitĂ© Laval, janvier 2020.

Christine Dupuis est archiviste au Centre d’études acadiennes Anselme-Chiasson de l’UniversitĂ© de Moncton. PassionnĂ©e d’histoire acadienne contemporaine, elle dĂ©tient un baccalaurĂ©at Ăšs arts, spĂ©cialisation histoire de l’UniversitĂ© de Moncton. Ayant entrepris des Ă©tudes en archivistique Ă  l’UniversitĂ© Laval, elle se concentre maintenant sur la conservation des archives acadiennes. Son expĂ©rience dans divers lieux musĂ©aux et centre d’archives acadiens lui ont permis de relever quelques dĂ©fis quant Ă  la reprĂ©sentation de la culture acadienne dans le milieu et Ă  la valorisation de cette culture minoritaire. Membre fondatrice du Groupe de recherche sur les archives et les femmes en Acadie (GRAFA), elle s’intĂ©resse Ă  la reprĂ©sentation des femmes dans les archives acadiennes.
