PUBLIC NOTICE
(Pursuant to Section 111 of the Community Planning Act)


The Village de Memramcook Council intends to adopt a by-law modifying the Village de Memramcook Rural Plan.  The purpose of this by-law is to:

·  rezone the properties bearing PID 70233069 and 00922260 located on Memramcook-Est Road, from the Rural Residential (RR) to the Resource Development (RD) zone to permit the construction of a garage for storage and to repair farm equipment. 

The proposed by-law will be available for viewing by clicking here anytime or during regular office hours (from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) at the Chief Administrator/Municipal Clerk’s Office at the Village de Memramcook municipal building located at 540 Centrale Street in Memramcook.
 
Written objections to the proposed amendment will be considered by Council at a public meeting to be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at the Village de Memramcook municipal building on Centrale Street in Memramcook.  Written objections shall be addressed to Monique Bourque, Chief Administrative Officer/Municipal Clerk, Village de Memramcook, 540 Centrale Street, Memramcook, N.B. E4K 3S6.
 
Any person who wishes to submit written objections in relation to objections raised on the day fixed for consideration of objections may do so by sending them to the Chief Administrative Officer/Municipal Clerk within fourteen (14) days after that day.

The CBDC staff will host a business information session on Tuesday, March 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the Memramcook Public Library. This session will cover topics such as preparing a business plan and how to access government programs. (Presented in French)
Whether it’s Public skating at the Eugène (Gene) LeBlanc arena, checking out the Haut-du-Ruisseau Nature Park, or taking a trip to the Monument-Lefebvre museum, your kids will be anything but bored this March Break.

Free Family Activity Kits
Come and get your free family activity kit for National Acadian Day 2020! The kits will be available to pick up on Tuesday, August 11 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. outside the Municipal building (first come - first served).

Acadian “tie dye” Creations
The community is also invited to come and make Acadian “tie dye” creations.

Here's what you'll need to bring with you:

1) A white cotton T-shirt - or any other white item (example: pillowcase, pair of socks, etc.). Please make sure the item has never been worn or used.
2) Plastic bag (to take your creation home).

We will have 5 stations in place and only one family bubble per station. We ask participants to be patient, respect social distancing, sanitize their hands at each station and wait in line if needed. We also recommend not to wear clothes that you wouldn't to get dirty.

The ''Causeries du mardi 2020'' will take place from July 7 to August 25 at 7 p.m.via the Monument-Lefebvre Facebook Page. 

Phyllis E. LeBlanc & Christine Dupuis • Femmes et archives : quels enjeux pour la mémoire collective?

La capacité des historiens et historiennes de traiter de la thématique femme comme sujet historique dépend en première instance des sources, vestiges du passé. Les femmes ont-elles laissé des traces (écrites ou autres), de leur vie? Les sources traditionnellement utilisées pour construire le récit historique de l’Acadie permettent-elles d’éclairer l’histoire des femmes? Par le biais de quelles approches peut-on traiter les sources et mettre en valeur la mémoire collective des femmes acadiennes? On se penchera donc sur les stratégies qui permettent d’éclairer le passé des femmes et les enjeux de conservations relatifs aux documents de femmes, spécifiquement en Acadie.

Phyllis E. LeBlanc est professeure au Département d’histoire et de géographie à l’Université de Moncton, campus de Moncton. Elle détient un B.A. et un M. ès Arts en histoire de l’Université de Moncton et un Ph.D. en histoire de l’Université d’Ottawa. Membre du Groupe de recherche sur les archives et les femmes en Acadie (GRAFA), elle a tout récemment publié un chapitre qui porte sur les défis de la représentation des femmes dans le récit historique acadien : « Que nous apprennent les synthèses historiques et les contributions récentes à la recherche fondamentale en histoire des femmes et du genre en Acadie?», dans Paroles et regards de femme en Acadie. D’hier à aujourd’hui, sous la direction de Jimmy Thibault, Michael Poplyansky, Stéphanie St-Pierre et Chantal White, Ste-Foy, Presses de l’Université Laval, janvier 2020.

Christine Dupuis est archiviste au Centre d’études acadiennes Anselme-Chiasson de l’Université de Moncton. Passionnée d’histoire acadienne contemporaine, elle détient un baccalauréat ès arts, spécialisation histoire de l’Université de Moncton. Ayant entrepris des études en archivistique à l’Université Laval, elle se concentre maintenant sur la conservation des archives acadiennes. Son expérience dans divers lieux muséaux et centre d’archives acadiens lui ont permis de relever quelques défis quant à la représentation de la culture acadienne dans le milieu et à la valorisation de cette culture minoritaire. Membre fondatrice du Groupe de recherche sur les archives et les femmes en Acadie (GRAFA), elle s’intéresse à la représentation des femmes dans les archives acadiennes.
